Scone horse trials cancelled due to dry conditions for horses

There are no plans to run any trials of the two-day event planned for this weekend.

Carnell said the decision to suspend the race because of wet conditions was an example of the government's handling of horse racing.

"We took it very seriously," he said.

"We are going to find a solution to that situation that is fair for the racers."

The race is expected to continue in its previous format on the Saturday afternoon after a rain-affected round is scheduled for Wednesday.
